|So Hing Keung (b.1959, Hong Kong), So Hing-keung graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Photographic Design with First-class honours in 1994. He is now a professional photographer and part-time lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Art School. So’s works have been showcased in Paris, Berlin, New York, Toronto and Hong Kong since the 1980s. In 1995, he was awarded the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship which opened up the opportunity for photographic studies in US. In 1998, he was awarded the Fellowship for Artistic Development by Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Other award honours include Judges Award and Gold Award of the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers Awards in 1997 and 1999. His Chinese series won the Prize of Excellence at the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition in 2001. Recent solo exhibitions are “the Transformation of Matter” (2007), “Intertwined” (2007) and “Red” (2009). His works are collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, City University of Hong Kong and private collectors.
